Margaret Newland

Margaret has been studying, practicing and teaching mindfulness for over 20 years. She completed Yoga, Advanced Yoga, and Pre-natal Yoga Teacher Training at Open Sky Yoga in Rochester, NY. In addition to her many years teaching yoga and mindfulness, she holds a masters degree in Human Development from University of Rochester. She has been an adjunct faculty member at Finger Lakes Community College since 1994 teaching Psychology, Stress Reduction and Health, among others. She has worked as a facilitator for Ontario County Office for the Aging, Wegmans, Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester and Cornell University. Geneva has been her home her entire life. It is where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Tim, and raised her 3 daughters, Marissa, Valerie, and Jamie in the house she grew up in.

As the executive director for Geneva Breathes, Margaret builds partnerships with other community organizations and oversees the structure needed to achieve the mission of Geneva Breathes.
