Toni Shama
“My work with mothers has been so rewarding. In creating a space where we can just gather, ground, and grow in our connection to each other and ourselves. When women empower each other, validate and support one another, incredible things happen.”
Toni is a 200-hr RYT as well as a Prenatal RYT. She was born and raised in the Finger Lakes region and first began assisting laboring women when she was eleven years old. She knew right away that she wanted to support women during this transformative birth experience.
In addition to teaching yoga and working as a birth and postpartum doula, Toni has certifications in lactation consultation and childbirth education. She is a certified physical education teacher and a proud mother of three cheerful and energetic children, all born at home in Geneva.
Toni teaches from the perspective that being conscious and embodied is a persistent and consistent practice of slow mindful movement and breath-work, all while altering expectations. She has been hosting Mother Circles in the Geneva Community for the last five years and feels honored to provide a safe space for mothers to connect with each other and themselves.
Toni facilitates Mother’s Circle and teaches gentle yoga for Geneva Breathes.
